Our Headquarters

Safety

Our Commitment to Our People and Our Industry

At SBA, providing a safe and healthy work environment for the protection of our employees is paramount.

We believe that all injuries and incidents can be prevented, and the responsibility of safety is shared throughout the organization. SBA maintains a vigorous safety and injury prevention program, with multiple training sessions held annually. Through training, each employee is empowered with responsibility for their personal health and safety and the health and safety of their fellow employees and contractors. Additionally, we maintain a comprehensive management system that includes employee training, which allows us to track all essential safety data and enhance our safety efforts. Likewise, we have streamlined our contractor safety compliance and insurance verification process, significantly improving our visibility of contractor accountability and our proactivity regarding contractor safety. Continuous improvement is a way of life at SBA, and we use feedback and experience from our field to refine and advance our safety culture.

Our Commitment to Our Industry

As a company, we are affiliated with leading safety agencies and programs such as the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) and NATE: The Communications Infrastructure Contractors Association (NATE), with whom we collaborated to create a hazard recognition program aimed at carriers, broadcasters and tower owners, as well as the National Wireless Safety Alliance (NWSA) and the Telecommunications Industry Registered Apprenticeship Program (TIRAP).

The safety management team at SBA frequently contributes and speaks at various industry events that help further safety in the tower industry. For example, our management sits on the OSHA Relations subcommittee for NATE, the advisory board for TIRAP, the board of directors and board of governors for NWSA and one of the exam management committees for NWSA, and we are regular members on panels for education on tower safety issues at industry conferences sponsored by NATE, Tower Summit at CTIA (Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association) and WIA (Wireless Infrastructure Association). Our team is also active on several industry committees including the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-14 Committee, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) A10.48 Committee and the Safety Equipment Manufacturers Consensus Group (SEMC) Committee.
