At SBA, providing a safe and healthy work environment for the protection our employees is paramount. SBA believes that all injuries and accidents can be prevented. The responsibility of safety is shared throughout the organization, and SBA maintains a vigorous safety and injury prevention program, with multiple training sessions held annually. Each employee is empowered with responsibility for their personal health and safety and the health and safety of their fellow employees and contractors. Continuous improvement is a way of life at SBA, and we use feedback and experience from our field to refine and advance our safety culture.

Our Risk Management and Safety team has over 100 years of combined experience in safety related fields. As a company, we are affiliated with leading safety agencies such as the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) and the National Association of Tower Erectors (NATE), with whom we collaborated to create a hazard recognition program aimed at carriers, broadcasters and tower owners.

The safety management team at SBA frequently contributes and speaks at various industry events that help further safety in the tower industry. For example, our management sits on the OSHA Relations subcommittee for NATE and we are regular members on panels for education on tower safety issues at industry conferences sponsored by NATE, Tower Summit at CTIA (Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association) and PCIA (Personal Communications Industry Association).

Recently, SBA was recognized as a NATE Member Training Company for meeting or exceeding the minimum requirements for training outlined in the NATE Tower Climber Fall Protection Training Standard (NATE CTS). SBA provides a corporate culture that cultivates a strong commitment to safety and is reflective in our dedication of “Building Better Wireless.”
